For the last 12 years, when local surfers or Beach Haven visitors walked into South-End Surf ’N Paddle, they were met by the friendly enthusiasm of owner Ken Gallant, a local who learned to surf in the 1960s.
Gallant is known around Beach Haven as Ken “Brah” for his love of the term, short for “braddah” in Hawaiian pidgeon. A colorful South Ender, he has the energy of someone a third his age.
