Mystic Islanders may have noticed subtle changes to everyone’s favorite eatery, John & Sonia’s Luncheonette. For the last 60 years, the diner has been a community staple for an affordable, hearty breakfast. Many will remember John Spinelli and his wife, Sonia Milagros Spinelli, who cheerfully greeted their customers day in and day out as if they were family for nearly 20 of those years.

However, last year, after the Spinellis relocated to Florida, the business changed hands, seemingly under the radar.
