The Long Beach Island of 1950 would be almost completely unrecognizable today. Few institutions remain, but a familiar face stands strong against the picturesque backdrop of Manahawkin Bay: Howard’s Seafood Restaurant in Beach Haven Terrace. When the business reopens on May 1, it will be celebrating its 75th season.
Through hurricanes, economic hardships and even a pandemic, Howard’s has continued to operate as a family-owned fixture on LBI.
