As many local sailors look forward to the summer season, Emily and John Haig of Beach Haven made the most of their trip to the Melges Watersports Center in Merritt Island, Fla., late last month, taking the top spot in the Melges 15 Midwinter Championship.
The daughter-father duo swiped the title with a net 35 points after taking third place in the first race, first in the fourth race and second in the sixth race.
