The season of giving has arrived around the Long Beach Island region, but at least one small business has been working for months to help those less fortunate this holiday season.
To that end, The Cheese Shoppe in Surf City recently donated $3,000 to the Hunger Foundation of Southern Ocean, a nonprofit organization of volunteers who raise awareness and funding for local food pantries that annually support thousands in the greater Southern Ocean County community.
