Next month, Beach Haven looks to join other municipalities in Ocean County as a stigma-free zone. It is an initiative started by the county’s Mental Health Awareness Committee and the goal is to remove the stigma associated with mental illness.

At last week’s borough council agenda meeting, officials heard a presentation from committee members Michael Roche and Jennifer Gallagher. Both said mental illness has affected them personally.
