Approximately 250 runners of various ages participated in the Barnegat Township Volunteer Fire Co.’s 12th annual Stop Drop and Run on Aug. 31. The event, featuring a 5K and 10K, began and ended at the township dock, sending runners on a winding course over bayfront and lagoon areas off Bayshore Drive.
In the 5K run, 17-year-old Lucas Harrer of Barnegat came in first with a time of 19:26-26. Right behind him for second place was Ryan Geddes, 16, also of Barnegat, who recorded a time of 19:37:54.
