Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that on June 5, Michael Mulgrew, 37, of Barnegat was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Guy P. Ryan to 30 years in New Jersey State Prison – with a 30-year period of parole ineligibility – relative to each of his previously entered guilty pleas to two counts of murder in connection with the deaths of his parents, Eugene Mulgrew, 71, and Cheryl Mulgrew, 69, also of Barnegat.
The murders occurred in Barnegat Township on Nov. 2, 2023. The sentences will run concurrently.
