The evening of Sept. 30, Lizabeth “Lizzie” Van Ness stood amid the crowd at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, where the band $uicideboy$ had stopped on its Grey Day Tour. Where she and Gabe Saldana were supposed to be, together.
She somehow summoned the strength to go to the concert. But when she held up one of Gabe’s shirts for a photo, she knew from where that strength had come.
“I went for him, and took his shirt with me,” said the teary-eyed teenager two evenings later, Oct. 2.
