ReClam the Bay’s booth was busy on a recent Monday at the Surf City Farmers Market. Bill Walsh, now in his fourth year as president of the nonprofit, manned the stall alongside other volunteers, chatting shellfish and selling merchandise to benefit a mission that has spanned 20 years: a mission to educate, to connect, and to preserve our coastal environment.

“I’d like to put us out of business,” Walsh quipped, imagining a future – however unlikely – where our watershed has no need for allies.
