With Old Barney rising above the trees, the Barnegat Lighthouse State Park parking lot appeared to be a portal into the past – lined with decked-out vintage Volkswagen vans with nostalgic baby-blue paint still intact and rusted exteriors dappled with stickers boasting the vehicles’ countless travels. Passersby felt as if they stepped straight into the ’70s.
In fact, this was present day on May 16, in the midst of a vintage camper meetup.
